Nicole and Mike’s spring wedding at Great River Golf Club was filled with elegance, nostalgia, and fairytale magic. The Great River Golf Club wedding began with Nicole getting ready alongside her mother and bridesmaids. I started the morning by capturing her beautiful details, which perfectly set the tone for the day. These included a blue floral invitation suite, pearl-accented bow heels, heart-shaped pearl sunglasses, custom matchboxes with the couple’s last name, and a sentimental locket holding portraits of her grandparents. I styled a flat lay accented with blue flowers and daisies to tie everything together.

Before stepping into her gown, Nicole shared a joyful moment with her bridesmaids, all dressed in matching hydrangea pajamas. Her dress was a regal ballgown adorned with intricate floral lace detailing. Nicole’s mother helped zip her into the gown and fasten her jewelry, creating such a meaningful, emotional moment. Shortly after, her father entered for a heartfelt first look that brought tears to everyone in the room. Lastly, Nicole’s mom helped position her veil, completing the bridal ensemble. Nicole looked absolutely stunning, and we captured a series of elegant bridal portraits. Her blusher veil and soft blue bouquet tied her entire look together beautifully.

Next, we traveled to the place where Nicole and Mike’s love story first began, Sacred Heart University. The two met there as students, making it an incredibly meaningful location for their wedding day. At the heart of campus sits the breathtaking Chapel of the Holy Spirit, a venue reserved exclusively for alumni weddings. Built from limestone and copper, the chapel is an architectural masterpiece. Behind the altar, a stunning mosaic mural of Jesus and his apostles glows in the natural light. Surrounded by loved ones, Nicole and Mike exchanged vows in a sacred ceremony. Saying I do at the very place the couple first met was a beautiful full-circle moment.

Because the campus played such a significant role in their story, it was the perfect setting for wedding party portraits. Sacred Heart’s architecture blends contemporary design with classic Catholic inspiration, creating a grand, almost castle-like atmosphere. We captured portraits outside the chapel, on the iconic stone steps, and beneath the grand archways. The steps were a standout location, allowing us to arrange the wedding party across multiple levels for dynamic and visually striking images. The soft blue tones of the campus buildings beautifully complemented the wedding’s color palette.

Romantic Campus Portraits

Afterward, I spent time with just Nicole and Mike, wandering through campus to capture romantic portraits. They led me to all their favorite spots, turning the session into a sentimental journey through their college memories. These moments felt incredibly personal, reliving the beginning of their relationship while creating images that were both elegant and meaningful.

One of the most stunning locations was a set of stone steps rising toward an open blue sky, painted with soft white clouds and framed by whimsical tree branches. It felt like something out of a fairytale, and it quickly became one of my favorite portrait locations of the day.
