Charming Overbrook House Wedding | Cape Cod Wedding Photographer

D & S had the most charming and intimate Overbrook House Wedding on Cape Cod.
The couple booked me back in 2019. After the pandemic hit, they had to postpone the wedding two years in a row. Finally, in 2022, after eloping in the Swiss Alps, they were able to have the wedding day they always wanted, with all their family and friends present! Many of whom had traveled all the way from Europe to attend.

The Overbrook House, located in Buzzards Bay, provided a unique setting for their celebration. The house had ample rooms for family members to stay, which was important as many of their guests had traveled quite far to attend. The venue also had large, scenic grounds to host the ceremony and reception, with a charming garden for photos. Unlike a traditional staffed venue, the event was run by the couple and their family. This allowed them to host their family at the house all weekend long. There also was no curfew the night of the wedding, so they could keep their party going all night long!
D & S spent the morning getting ready in the Overbook House with their closest family members while their guests arrived and mingled in the garden.

The couple had a private first look at the bottom of the main staircase. I love D’s reaction of pure joy to seeing his wife to be for the first time on their wedding day.

Next, the couple joined hands and stepped outside to greet their waiting guests. After properly mingling with everyone, the ceremony began. It was full of pure and genuine emotion. A close friend of the couple officiated, providing intimate insight to their relationship with a kind sense of humor. D & S each had personalized vows that they tearfully read aloud, promising to cherish each other’s love and understand their differences.

After walking back down the aisle through a sea of bubbles, they had a long, tearful embrace. The raw and genuine emotion they shared in that moment spoke volumes on how deep their love ran for each other. This was my favorite moment of the Overbook House wedding.

After the ceremony, we headed to the garden and took some lovely portraits. Meanwhile, their guests gathered together and practiced a surprise for the newly weds.

The Overbrook House wedding reception kicked off with their guests serenading the newly weds with a surprise song written just for their wedding day! They had quite the party after, full of wood fire pizza, a couples trivia game, a slideshow containing childhood photos of the couple, and lots of dancing! It was such a fun experience to capture a wedding that blended together both American and European traditions.

This Overbrook House wedding was one of a kind! It was such a privilege to document a day so full of family, cheer, and love.
