A Sacred Heart University wedding is the perfect blend of Catholic tradition and heartfelt nostalgia. For alumni couples, it’s about more than just saying “I do” on a beautiful campus, it’s about returning to the very place where their story began. Sacred Heart University’s campus is a stunning backdrop for a wedding. At it's heart is the Chapel of the Holy Spirit, a limestone and copper structure filled with natural light. Behind the altar, a dazzling mosaic of Jesus and his apostles makes for a breathtaking setting for wedding ceremonies, available exclusively to alumni.
Nicole and Mike’s love story began right on Sacred Heart’s campus. They met as students often attending services together at the Chapel of the Holy Spirit. After graduation, they built a life and love that only grew stronger with time. Returning to Sacred Heart University to exchange vows was a full-circle moment, bringing them back to where their story began. Their ceremony inside the Chapel of the Holy Spirit was breathtaking. Standing in front of the sparkling mosaic, they exchanged sacred vows surrounded by their closest family and friends. The joy in the room was undeniable as they stepped into marriage in the same chapel that had witnessed their love story blossom years earlier.
The Sacred Heart University wedding continued with Nicole and Mike exploring the university grounds with their wedding party, many of whom were friends they had met during their college years. The campus, with it’s contemporary design and Catholic inspired architecture, offered the perfect blend of elegance and sentimentality for portraits. The celebration continued at Great River Gold Club, where Nicole and Mike were whisked away in a golf cart to some of the venue’s most scenic spots for portraits. As the evening unfolded, their reception was filled with heartfelt toasts, emotional first dances, and an energy that grew more euphoric with every song. The night truly reflected the joy and love surrounding these two.

This Sacred Heart University wedding was a dream to capture. Photographing Nicole and Mike in such a personal and meaningful location added an extra layer of beauty and nostalgia to every moment. I wanted their images to feel sentimental and full of the joy that comes with returning to a place so deeply tied to their love story. Sacred Heart’s stunning architecture and serene atmosphere created the perfect canvas. One of my favorite spots was the grass covered stairs tucked behind the chapel, where we captured their iconic wedding party portraits. The clean lines of the stone provided a striking backdrop, while the staggered levels of the stairs made the portraits not only visually engaging but also dynamic—perfectly reflecting the energy and connection of the couple and their closest friends.
