Christopher Columbus Park Engagement Session
Tammy and Ken’s Christopher Columbus Park engagement session was the perfect summer evening in Boston, filled with lush greenery, vibrant florals, and iconic waterfront views. We began their session at Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park before heading to the Seaport for a stunning Fan Pier Park engagement at sunset.
Christopher Columbus Park Engagement in Boston’s Waterfront
Tammy and Ken’s summer Boston engagement session began at Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park, one of the city’s most iconic and scenic waterfront locations. This four-and-a-half-acre park connects Boston’s downtown green space to the harbor and serves as a key stop along the Walk to the Sea.
Located on Long Wharf between the North End and Faneuil Hall, the park feels like a hidden oasis. A grove of sycamore trees shelters it from the bustle of the city, creating a peaceful and romantic setting that’s perfect for a Christopher Columbus Park engagement session.
The park is best known for its long wooden trellis covered in lush green ivy. This dramatic archway is beautiful year-round, even glowing with twinkle lights in the winter, but summer is when it truly shines. The vibrant green ivy creates a stunning natural frame, making it one of the most sought-after backdrops for engagement photos in Boston.

Christopher Columbus Park Engagement Archway Portraits and Waterfront Views
I captured Tammy and Ken framed by the iconic ivy-covered arches, where the combination of structured architecture and organic greenery created a timeless, editorial feel. Just steps away from the harbor, we also took advantage of the waterfront views, adding variety and depth to their gallery.
The gardens were in full bloom, including the most beautiful purple flowers that perfectly complemented Tammy’s pastel pink dress. The soft color palette and natural textures made every moment feel light, romantic, and effortlessly elegant.

A Hidden Gem: The Rose Kennedy Rose Garden
One of the most magical parts of any Christopher Columbus Park engagement session is the Rose Kennedy Rose Garden, a true hidden gem tucked beneath the trees.
Nearly invisible from the street, this intimate garden is enclosed by granite and an iron fence, creating a secluded and romantic atmosphere. The garden features 104 rose bushes, one for each year of Rose Kennedy’s life, along with a variety of flowers in different shapes, colors, and fragrances.
June is the best time to visit, when the roses are in peak bloom, and the garden transforms into a vibrant, colorful display.

Romantic Garden Moments Surrounded by Florals
This was easily my favorite part of Tammy and Ken’s engagement session. Surrounded by blooming roses, they looked completely ethereal.
The garden created an intimate setting that allowed for more candid, emotional moments, walking hand in hand, dancing between the flowers, and simply soaking it all in. The space also encouraged creative compositions, as I photographed them through layers of florals to add depth and texture to their images.

From Waterfront Charm to Skyline Views: Fan Pier Park Engagement
One of the best parts about planning a Boston engagement session is how close together so many incredible locations are. After exploring Christopher Columbus Park, we took a quick Uber ride to the Seaport for the second half of their session: a Fan Pier Park engagement.
Fan Pier Park offers one of the best skyline views in Boston. The cobblestone walkway lines the harbor and overlooks Rowes Wharf, blending historic charm with modern city architecture. This contrast makes it an ideal location for couples looking for a mix of classic and contemporary backdrops.

Sunset at Fan Pier Park Engagement Session
We arrived at Fan Pier Park just before sunset, my favorite time to photograph here. As the sun dipped lower, the sky softened into a dreamy pink hue, casting the most flattering light across the water and skyline.
Tammy and Ken’s pink and blue outfits couldn’t have complemented the scene more perfectly. We strolled along the cobblestone paths, capturing elegant portraits with the city rising behind them.
We found a beautiful bench framed by blooming pink roses, and also made our way to the steps above Reel House Oyster Bar. This elevated spot offers one of the best panoramic views in the Seaport and is perfect for capturing elevated, editorial-style portraits during a Fan Pier Park engagement session.

Ending the Christopher Columbus Park Engagement with Golden Light & Harbor Views
We ended the session at the edge of the pier as the sun reached its lowest point, creating a soft, glowing reflection across the water. Tammy and Ken sat side by side, dangling their feet over the harbor, taking in the beauty of the Boston skyline.
Their Christopher Columbus Park engagement and Fan Pier Park engagement session truly had it all: lush greenery, vibrant florals, waterfront charm, and a glowing sunset over the city.
It was the perfect summer evening and such a beautiful reflection of their love story.
